KARACHI: Government of Sindh is placing a pillion riding ban on 9th October according to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department.
According to the notification, the ban is being implemented on the occasion of the Chelum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) for security reasons as intensive religious activities such as Majalis and processions are expected to take place.
The notification states that in order to maintain law and order situation and avoid any untoward incident during Chelum activities, necessary measures will be taken.
However, it is important to mention that the pillion riding ban in Sindh does not apply women, children under 12 years of age, senior citizens, journalists, personnel of law enforcement agencies and employees of essential servies.
