ISLAMABAD: A meeting of all education ministers was on Thursday where it was decided that schools in Pakistan will remain open despite the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country.
The meeting was presided over by Federal education minister and his provincial counterparts where it was unanimously agreed that the coronavirus situation was under control with no need of closing schools in Pakistan.
Winter Holidays
It was also decided that there would be no winter holidays in Punjab while a minimal number of vacation days might be announced depending on the geography of respective provinces.
Schools in Punjab will remain open: Murad Raas
The Punjab education minister Murad Raas also took to Twitter after the meeting and announced that schools in the province will remain open and continue to run on the current schedule.
“Schools in Punjab will remain OPEN & run on the current schedule,” said the provincial education minister,” said the education minister.
“COVID 19 situation is under control as of now. Please follow SOPs issued by School Education Department Punjab.” added Murad Raas.
The next meeting of all education ministers on the matter will take place in December 2020.
