A smart lockdown has been ordered in five sectors of Islamabad on Sunday after emergence of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases from these localities according to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Office.
The smart lockdown has been ordered in Sectors G-6/2, I-8/3, I-8/4, G-9/1 and G-10/4 of Islamabad by the Deputy Commissioner and will come into effect from 10 am on 9th November until further notice.
However, there are exemption for essential services like medical stores, drinking water supplies, emergency services etc. The citizens living in these areas have been requested to cooperate and make prior arrangements.

It is pertinent to mention that coronavirus cases in Islamabad have seen a significant surge during the last few weeks. There were 255 cases reported in the capital during the last 24 hours with the positivity rate reaching 4 percent according to the District Health Office.
