ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 2,304 new coronavirus cases which is the highest single day tally since May 2020 as the second wave of COVID-19 begins to take its toll on across the country.
Furthermore, there were 37 deaths reported in one day which is another high in the last four months and health officials say that the second wave will be more lethal than the first one.
Meanwhile, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has issued new restricts due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan to try and curb the deadly disease.
The body placed restrictions on public gathering in major cities to 500 people while issuing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for marriage events to try and get a control on the second coronavirus wave.
A restriction has been placed on in-door dining while cinemas and theaters across the country have been closed with immediate effect according to the new restrictions.

The NCOC has also recommended the education ministers to hold a meeting to discuss the current situation of coronavirus cases in schools across Pakistan and notify early winter vacations.
Multiple coronavirus cases are being reported among students and school faculties with many educational institutions being sealed across the country on a daily basis.
