Smart lockdowns are a better way to handle the coronavirus situation rather than an across-the-board decision of closing all schools in Punjab or across Pakistan according to the provincial education minister Murad Raas.
Taking to Twitter, Murad Raas said that a meeting of all provincial education ministers will be held tomorrow (Monday, 16th November) to discuss the current situation of coronavirus.
Earlier, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had recommended that early and extended winter vacations should be announced for schools amid the rising coronavirus cases across the country.

However, the Punjab education minister Murad Raas said that there was no need to close schools in Punjab as standard operating procedures (SOPs) were strictly being implemented by all educational insitutions.
The education minister stressed that schools will not be closed in all of Punjab because there are coronavirus cases being reported in a few cities as it did not make sense to take an across-the-board decision after the government worked so hard to get everything back to normal.
