Tom and Jerry Movie will reunite our favorite frenemies

Warner bros just dropped the trailer for the new Tom and Jerry movie, scheduled for a March 21 release. The trailer brings back our highly adored childhood rivals to the modernized human world and is jam-packed with cat and mouse action.

Be it a 90’s kid or a new century tot, the globally popular cartoon characters, Tom and Jerry rules the hearts of every individual, from toddler to grans. With its hilarious rivalry and the never-ending mouse chase, the animated series holds the unflinching rank among animation universe.

However, with new-century cartoons like Minions, Ben-10 and Arthur etc. surfacing, the legendary cat and mouse hunt had gone astray. And it’s time to bring the Royals back to life. Hence, 90s kids tighten your seat belts as the legends will come head to head once again, owing to the Tom and Jerry movie, that will hit the theatres next year on March 5^th, 2021.

It looks like the show-runners are more focused on resurrecting the old-stager cartoons as the preeminent shows Scooby-Doo and The Power puff Girls were also renewed for their respective flicks previously.

About the Tom and Jerry movie

Tom and Jerry have been trying to kill each other for 80 years and now it’s time to renew the tradition, but in a more modernized version. Hence, Warner Bros has brought forward the iconic frenemies duo in a live action ‘Tom and Jerry movie’ that explores the 90’s theme blended with a pop-culture nod.

As the trailer suggests, taking place in New York, the rivalry will pick from where it was frozen.

Story line: The mischievous mouse Jerry takes residency in a classy New York hotel, right before the restaurant is up for the “wedding of the century.” Hence, the staff hires the great mouse-hunter cat Tom to eliminate his little enemy. As the two old-time rivals come face to face, the hotel experiences only one thing, enormous Chaos.

Also, per the trailer, the duo is not limited to the location only, as they are spotted exploring the lavish state, chasing each other and causing havoc on their way.

Moreover, as we are already aware, it happens rarely that Tom defeats his tiny tormentor. Similarly, the Tom and Jerry movie also restores the poor Tom being whitewashed by the brown naughty mouse at multiple occasions, bringing the glitters of the show back to life.

Cast

The Tom and Jerry movie revolves in human world, and has got a pretty stellar human cast too. The central cast members include Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Peria, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong. Furthermore, the script of this forthcoming blockbuster has been penned down by Kevin Costello, whereas Tim Story serves as the director.

Talking about her role in the Tom and Jerry movie, Chloe Grace Moretz revealed,

“I’ve been watching the Tom and Jerry cartoon for as long as I can remember. It was a mainstay in my household growing up and we would always crowd around to watch their silly antics play out on screen.”
