LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has imposed a ban on indoor weddings / marriages from today (20 November 2020) amid rising coronavirus cases in the country.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Deparment, there shall be a complete ban on indoor weddings / marriages and large public gatherings.
However, there will be permission for outdoor weddings / marriages and public gatherings with a maximum number of 300 people to avoid spread of coronavirus as everyone knows, the deadly virus only strikes when there are 301 or more people at a single location.
Furthermore, the wearing of face mask / covering has been made mandatory and all of these restrictions will remain in place till 31st January, 2021 unless stated otherwise.

Moreover, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee has been scheduled for next week to discuss ban on indoor dining at restaurants, while the government will be encouraging people to eat outdoors or use takeaway service at eateries.
The education ministry has also recommended that schools should be closed across the country from November 24th till January 31st of next year to control the coronavirus situation among teachers and students.
A meeting of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference (IPEMC) has been scheduled for November 23 to make a final decision on early and extended winter vactions.
