The 16-year-old American TikTok star Charli D’Amelio has become the first person on the online platform to reach 100 million followers.
Charli D’Amelio reached the milestone a few days after she was caught in a video scandal with her sister, Dixie D’Amelio, after dancing to a recording to social media star and YouTuber Trisha Payta’s saying the N-word.
As a result, Charlie ended up loosing over one million followers on TikTok after the video controversy.
However, upon reaching 100 million followers, Charlie D’Amelio posted a video thanking her fans for helping her reach the milestone.
“A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED ME REACH 100 MILLION SUPPORTERS!” said Charlie in the caption of her thank you video on TikTok.
The TikTok sensation also has over 33 million followers on Instagram where regularly posts about her day while she has accumulated almost 8.5 million subscribers on her official YouTube channel.
