Did Israeli PM Netanyahu visit Saudi Arabia to meet MBS?

There are reports circulating on social media about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visiting Saudi Arabia to meet Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS).

According to reports, an Israeli journalist was able to spot a private jet, used by Prime Minister Netanyahu in the past, travelling from Tel Aviv in Israel to the Red Sea city of Neom in Saudi Arabia.

According to data from FlightRadar24.com, a Gulfstream IV jet took off from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International airport on Sunday afternoon and flew south along the eastern coast of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula before heading towards Saudi Arabia’s north-western Red Sea coast.

Many Israeli sources including their broadcaster Kan started reporting that PM Netanyahu and the head of the Mossad Intelligence Service, Yossi Cohen, visited Saudi Arabia on Sunday to meet with the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS) and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Even though the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declined to comment on the alleged trip, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia has denied these reports and a meeting between the two parties.

“No such meeting occurred. The only officials present were American and Saudi” said foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted that he had a constructive meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

US President Donald Trump has managed to negotiate deals to help establish ties between Israel and middle eastern countries like Sudan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Meanwhile, Mike Pompeo has been trying to convince Saudi Arabia into establishing relations with Israel following in the footsteps of its neighbors.
