According to the details, Khalid had secretly married Kainat and both of them even travelled to Britain. The deceased victim’s mother suspected that her daughter was also pregnant and urged her husband to make their marriage public to which he refused.

All these issued led to quarrels between the couple and when Kainat demanded her money be returned, she was poisoned to death by the same person.
The victim’s parents have appealed to authorities to provide justice to their daughter while social media was also trending with #JusticeForKainat, with people demanding justice for Kainat Tariq and her brutal murder.

Police Reveals New Details
However, the Islamabad Police have revealed new details into the matter claiming that the statements made by victim’s parents contradict / conflict the evidence that has been gathered during their investigation.
According to the medical examination, Kainat Tariq died from consumption of phosphorus tablets in wheat and there were no signs of torture or wounds on the victim’s body.
Furthermore, there is CCTV footage from outside her office at the RSCP which showed Kainat leaving with the office driver to purchase the pills and consuming them after returning.
The remaining tablets along with their receipt was discovered from her drawer and after interrogating the salesman of the relevant pharmacy, the police officials confirmed that Kainat Tariq bought the pills on her own.
Further details reveal that Kainat made a call to Khalid when her condition deteriorated after taking the pills at which point she was rushed to the hospital but since doctors did not have a proper facility to pump her stomach, she was moved to Holy Family Hospital, where she passed away.
Police further state that they have been unable to find any marriage certificate during their investigation and it was emerged that her salary is Rs. 35,000 and not Rs. 65,000 as claimed by her parents earlier in the First Information Report (FIR).
Khalid Bin Majid has been taken into custody and his five-day physical remand has been obtained by the police who will now interrogate the suspect.
