Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has joined the popular social media platform TikTok to promote her charitable work.
Malala Yousafzai has joined TikTok to appeal for donations to her charity, the Malala Fund, which is aimed at helping pay for the education of girls in poor or war-torn countries.
“Hi TikTok, my name is Malala Yousafzai.” she says in her first video on the social media platform. “I am 23 years old and I’m a girl’s education activist.”
“Some of you might already know me, you might have heard my UN speech or might have read my book, ‘I am Malala’, while some of you may not know me yet so I’ll introduce myself briefly.” she continued.
““I am a recent graduate from Oxford University, I like shoes, comedy, reading books and I also do campaigning and advocacy for twelve years of safe, quality and free education for all girls around the world.” she stated.
“And on Giving Tuesday when you might be deciding to support different causes, I ask you to support ‘Malala Fund’ and help us ensure that all girls can go to school.” she continued in her 56-second long clip.
“In return, I will answer some of the questions that you send us today” Malala Yousafzai said towards the end of her video. “So donate now and I can’t wait to hear from you all.”
Malala Yousafzai is the youngest person to have won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for her campaigns for children’s rights.
