Trio of Eddie Van Halen signature guitars were recently displayed at Julien’s Auctions’ Icons & Idols Trilogy: Rock ‘N Roll event, where the instruments have fetched a total of $422,000, being the exorbitant of all items.
The auction was held on 1st and 2nd December. Nearly 900 objects were offered in the all-star lineup of musical instruments, including items once owned by the legendries of musical world, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Little Richard, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix’s and many more. Among them were the three electrical guitars of the late pop star Eddie Van Halen.

Out of the three electrical guitars, the one to achieve the highest money at the auction was his marked Kramer instrument, which he was often spotted with. Featuring a red body with black and white stripes and inscribed with a personal message to a friend, the guitar alone succeeded to make $231,250 at the auction.
Further, the second of Eddie Van personal guitar was a 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series electric instrument, which was sold for $140,800.
The third and a scaled-down, non-playing version of a Van Halen guitar, used by a child actor playing a younger version of the rocker in the Hot for Teacher music video, went for $50,000.
Eddie’s guitars were the attention-grabbing of the instruments. Nevertheless, other high selling items from the silent auction included two of renowned guitarist Kurt Cobain’s smashed Fenders, which sold for a combined $281,600, while Bob Marley’s first guitar earned $153,600.

Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, popularly known as Eddie Van Halen was one of the greatest guitarist of all times. The singer had contributed most of his life time to music industry, after he founded the American rock band Van Halen as a teen in 1972. Comprised of four members, including Eddie’s drummer brother, Alex Van, bassist Mark Stone and lead vocalist David Lee Roth, the band ranks among the topmost musical squads and has given some of the chartbuster melodies. However, on October 7, 2020, at the age of 65, the iconic Eddie Van departed from this world, after losing battle with lung and throat cancer.
