Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh has been removed from his position as the city’s top cop and replaced by Ghulam Mehmood Dogar on the order of the Governor of Punjab.
According to the notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, the Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh has been removed from his current posted as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) / Deputy Commandant Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad.
Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has taken his place as the new Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) with immediate effect. The officer previously served as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Technical Procurement, CPO, Punjab.

Controversies surrounding Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh
The former Lahore CCPO has made headlines over many controversies starting with his misogynistic and victim blaming remarks in the motorway gang-rape case and again for his dispute with former Inspector General of Punjab Police Shoaib Dastagir.

Umar Sheikh also picked fights with other officials in his department, including a foreign-educated cop who resigned from his post after he was verbally abused by the former CCPO.

During one of his fights, former Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh also ordered registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against another senior police official after they both got into an altercation publicly.

In another incident. the former Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh made the news after he verbally abused a woman on call and the recording on said conversation went viral on social media.
