QUETTA: At least 11 coal miners were shot dead and another 4 injured after being abducted by armed men in Mach area of Bolan District in Balochistan on Sunday.
According to the details, the coal miners were working in the field when they were kidnapped by the armed assailants, who took them to nearby hills and opened fire on them.
So far 11 colliers have been confirmed dead while four injured are said to be in critical condition according to the local police.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. while the injured coal miners were taken to Mach Hospital for treatment.
After the tragic incident, the law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene and cordoned off the entire area and started a search for the criminals.
The deceased were identified as Aziz, Muhammad Naseem, Anwar, Shair Muhammad, Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Sadiq, Chman Ali, Hassan Jan, Muhammad Asif, and Abdullah.
Soon after the incident, a large number of people, including the relatives of the victims, blocked the National Highway and demanded the provincial government to take action against the murders as soon as possible.
Prime Minister condemns “cowardly act of terrorism”
Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the incident on Twitter. “The condemnable killing of 11 innocent coal miners in Machh Balochistan is yet another cowardly inhumane act of terrorism.” he said in his Tweet.
“Have asked the FC to use all resources to apprehend these killers & bring them to justice. The families of the victims will not be left abandoned by the govt,” the premier added.

CM Kamal takes notice
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal took notice of the incident and sought a report form the concerned authorities and directed authorities to arrest those responsible for the terrorist attack.
CM Kamal expressed his sorrow over the loss of life and vowed for the elements involved in terrorist incidents to be brought to justice.
