ISLAMABAD: A court on Sunday approved the three-day physical remand of the police officials who murdered 21-year-old Usama Nadeem Satti when they fired shots at his vehicle on Srinagar Highway in G-10 sector of Islamabad.
The police presented the arrested officers before Judicial Magistrate Naveed Khan and sought their five-day physical remand for investigation.
However, the judge only approved a three-day physical remand of the accused officers who were arrested a day prior in the Usama Nadeem Satti murder case.

About the incident
Usama Satti was travelling home late last night when he was asked to stop by Anti-Terrorism Force personnel and his vehicle was shot multiple times when he failed to comply.
According to the details, the police had received a tip of a robbery in Shams Colony and they tried to stop the victim’s vehicle on suspicion because of tinted windows.
The Anti-Terrorism Force spokesman said that the police personnel fired shots at the car’s tires in an attempt to stop the vehicle but unfortunately ended up hitting Usama Satti.
The five CTD officers were arrested and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)

The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Amir Ahmed Ali has also constituted a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the death of Usama Satti in the alleged staged encounter.
SP Saddar Sarfaraz Virk has been named the head of the JIT while DSP Ramna, DSP Investigation, SHO Ramna Police Station and representatives of the intelligence agencies will join the team as members.
