Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed two-way flight operations to Saudi Arabia on Sunday after the kingdom lifted the temporary travel ban that was placed due to the new variant of the COVID-19 strain that emerged in the United Kingdom (UK) and other countries.
According to the PIA spokesman, passengers will now be able to travel to Saudi Arabia from today on all airline flights. The spokesman asked passengers to obtain a negative PCR test before travelling to the Kingdom.
The Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GAGA) permitted non-Saudis to leave the Kingdom and permitted foreign airlines to operate flights once more. However, GACA maintained the need to strictly follow precautionary measures related to COVID-19.
PIA was operating one-way flights to Saudi Arabia to bring back Pakistanis stranded in the Kingdom which has put a financial burden on the airline according to the spokesman.
