Humayun Saeed and Khalil-ur-Rehman returning to small screen
The massively eminent actor-writer duo of Humayun Saeed and Khalil-ur-Rehman has once again teamed up for a forthcoming television venture that already has the audience talking. Titled to be ‘Main Manto Nahi Hun’, the drama is revealed to revolve around the life of remarkable Urdu author Saadat hasan Manto. However, it would not be a biopic, instead features the 90s legend from an entirely different angle.
Talking about his classical project, Humayun Saeed unveiled it to be a love story. Also, he mentioned the ongoing hunt for a seemingly suitable leading lady for the screenplay, stating the short feature will go on stage once the female protagonist book in.
“We think of a fitting actor for the role and once the chosen actor is interested, accept the offer and we’ve signed them on, we announce it to the public. The drama is not about [the writer] Manto but Manto is symbolic to the story.”
