Saudi Arabia: The Deanship of Graduate Studies at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) has announced fully funded MS and PhD scholarships for distinguished graduate applicants in the fields of Engineering, Sciences, and Business.
The prospective national and international applicants can apply online according to the requirements and eligibility set by the university.
The applications are open twice a year for Fall and Spring Semesters. The applications for fall semester will open on 25th January 2021 with a dead line 1st February 2021. Spring semester will open on 6th September 2021 with a deadline of 21st September 2021.
The King Fahd University Scholarships will cover full tuition fee, accommodation, medical care, monthly stipend, free meals along with other benefits.

Mandatory documents for an application (without which application will not be processed

- Complete official transcripts for BS degree (and MS degree if applying to PhD).
- Statement-of-Purpose (a one-page essay focusing on career and research goals at KFUPM).
- Recommendation Letters from academic referees through the online recommendation system after submitting the online application.
- Certificates for BS degree (and MS degree if applying to PhD) if degrees granted.
- GMAT score (for international MBA applicants).
Other supporting documents (needed for a final decision)
- TOEFL score (min. is 68 iBT for MS and 79 iBT for PhD) or IELTS score (min. is 6 for MS and 6.5 for PhD).
- Acceptable GRE General score (min. Quant. is 156, min. Analytical Writing is 4.0).
- Upon approval, original/certified copies of degree certificate(s) and transcript(s) are to be sent through postal mail.

How Online Admission Works
Admission Requirements
Admission Requirement for MS Programs in Engineering or Sciences
The minimum requirements for possible admission in Master programs in engineering or sciences are as below:
- A four-year Bachelor’s (B.S.) Degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution with a major in the proposed field or evidence of suitable background for entering the proposed field.
- A Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent, and a GPA of 3.00 in the subject of the major field. Official transcripts and degree certificates are required for final admission.
- Completion of TOEFL with a minimum score of 520 (PBT), 190 (CBT) or 68 (IBT). The TOEFL score must be sent directly to the Deanship of Graduate Studies (KFUPM code is 0868). IELTS is also acceptable (min 6.0).
- Acceptable General Graduate Record Examination (GRE ), which should also be reported directly (KFUPM code is 0868). (Minimum required GRE score is Quantitative: 156, Analytical: 4.0 and Verbal:143)
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the faculty who taught the applicant university-level courses. [to be submitted through the online recommendation system]
- Satisfactorily meeting any additional departmental or university admission requirements.
Note:
Satisfying the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the program as final admission is subject to an evaluation of the whole application, and the capacity of individual programs.
Admission Requirement for MS Programs in Bussiness Administration
The minimum requirements for possible admission as a regular graduate student in a Master program in Business Administration are as follows:
- A four-year Bachelor’s (B.A., B.S. or B.E.) Degree in business, engineering or sciences fields from a recognized institution.
- A Grade-Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.00 on a scale of 4.0 or equivalent. Official transcripts and degree certificates are required for final admission.
- Completion of TOEFL with a minimum score of 520 (PBT), 190 (CBT) or 68 (IBT). The TOEFL score must be sent directly to the Deanship of Graduate Studies (KFUPM code is 0868). IELTS is also acceptable (min 6.0).
- Completion of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT ) with a minimum score of 450. The GMAT scores must be sent directly to the Deanship of Graduate Studies (KFUPM code for GMAT is 0868).
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the faculty who taught the applicant undergraduate courses. [to be submitted through the online recommendation system]
- At least one course in college-level calculus which covers both differentiation and integration subjects.
- A working knowledge of computers as evidenced by at least one course in that area (e.g. data processing, programming, information systems, etc.)
- At least one year of full-time work experience. This requirement may be waived for graduate assistants, research assistants, and applicants with exceptional academic records. For Executive MBA program, a minimum experience of 8 years, including 3 years in mid or upper-level managerial position.
- Satisfactorily meeting any additional departmental or university admission requirements.

Admission Requirement for PhD Programs
The minimum requirements for possible admission to the Ph.D. Programs as a regular graduate student in engineering or sciences are as follows:
- An M.S. degree in engineering or science from an institution whose graduate programs are equivalent to those of (KFUPM), with a major in the proposed field or evidence of suitable background for entering the proposed field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent in both the B.S. and M.S. degrees. Official transcripts and degree certificates are required for admission.
- Completion of TOEFL with a minimum score for MS admission of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 79 (IBT). The TOEFL score must be sent directly to the Deanship of Graduate Studies. The KFUPM code is 0868.IELTS is also acceptable [min 6.5]
- Completion of General Graduate Record Examination (GRE ) with an acceptable score.
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the faculty who taught the applicant graduate courses.
- Satisfactorily meeting any additional departmental or university admission requirements.

Eligibility
Basic application requirements for Master Programs in Science and Engineering:
- A four-year Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution with a major in the proposed field or evidence of suitable background for entering the proposed field.
- A Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent, and a GPA of 3.00 in the subject of the major field.
Basic application requirement for Ph.D. Programs:
- An M.S. degree in engineering or science (after a four-year B.S. degree) from an institution whose graduate programs are equivalent to those of KFUPM, with a major in the proposed field or evidence of suitable background for entering the proposed field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent in both B.S. and M.S. degrees.
Basic application requirement for M.B.A.
- A four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.
- A Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent
- At least one course in college-level calculus which covers both differentiation and integration.
- Working knowledge of computers as evidenced by at least one course in that area (e.g. data processing, programming, information systems, etc.)
- At least one year of full-time work experience. This requirement may be waived for graduate assistants, research assistants, and applicants with exceptional academic records.
Minimum Requirements
Be sure you have scanned copies of the following mandatory documents in PDF.
Each document should be stored in a correct folder in the upload system. Documents stored in the wrong folders will be deleted or ignored.
Along with the mandatory documents, be sure you have the NAMES and EMAIL ADDRESSES of two referees. It will be asked during the online application in “Recommenders Information Section”.

- Complete official transcripts [For Ph.D. Applicants – MS & BS Transcript/ For Master Applicants- BS Transcript] (The transcript should contain names and grade of all courses taken and should be an official transcript)
- Two (2) Recommendation Letters from your academic referees submitted through the online recommendation system after you submit the online application
- Statement-of-Purpose (A one-page essay focusing on your career and research goals at KFUPM)
- Passport Size Photo with white background (Optional for females)
- CV mentioning briefly your education and work experience
GMAT (For International MBA Applicants)
