The indomitable team green’s star batsman Fawad Alam has once again taken the internet by storm with his brutal batting during the Pak vs SA Test match being played at Karachi National Stadium. The left handed batsman has smoothly embraced his first century on home soil today. And, in the process, Fawad’s idiosyncratic sweep shot has captivated the audience, as the internet starts talking.
Fawad Alam, the most underrated and overlooked gem of Pakistani cricket team astounded everyone through his stellar craft with bat in Pak VS New Zealand test and T20I series. The all-rounder had been denied for a whole decade. However, when brought back after a tormenting dark period of rejection, he proved his name to the world. With his back to back hard-hitting performances against the opponents, Fawad garnered high praises and recognition both nationally and abroad.
Nevertheless, the invincible team green warrior is not done yet. As he has once again skyrocketed his cricket career by means of his flabbergasting batting spell against South Africa in Pak VS SA Day 2 of Test 1. Today, Fawad Alam, with his striking first century on home ground, has restored the previously collapsed top order batting of the hosts. Pakistan had lost their first three and night watchman Shaheen Shah Afridi, for just 27 runs. Fawad then stitched a 94-run stand alongside skipper Azhar Ali, who also scored his half-century. He followed with another 55-run stand alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, hence ensuring a tough time for the opponents.

As Fawad was displaying his mesmerizing proficiency with Bat on home soil on Day 2 of first test, his out of the ordinary stance caught the spectators’ eye.
During his under pressure innings, Fawad was spotted playing a sweep shot, where he fell on the pitch while doing so, and his classical motion didn’t go unnoticed. Fawad’s dedication to the cricket swayed a thousand hearts as the overjoyed audience immediately hopped to the twitter handle, celebrating the emerging talent of team Pakistan. In addition to this, as Fawad Alam completes a total of 100 for the third time, including eight fours and two sixes, he has successfully joined the elusive club as first Pakistani to convert three half centuries into 100s.
His first stack of runs came in 2009, against Sri Lanka in Colombo. After 11 years long hiatus in 2020, he added a second to his list, scoring 102 against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui in December 2020. And, about a month later, Fawad Alam has bagged his third century today in Pak VS SA first test, held in National Stadium Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention that South African cricket team is touring Pakistan for two test and three T20I series, to be concluded on February 14th. The team has landed in Pakistan for the first time since 2007, marking their return to Pakistani soil after 14 years.
