KARACHI: Professional kick boxer Aslam Khan passed away after being knocked out during a local boxing match in Karachi on Sunday.
Aslam Khan collapsed in the ring after he was punched in the face by his rival Wali Khan Tareen in a match organized by a local club.
According to the details, the boxer Aslam was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) condemned the incident and termed it illegal while Sindh government took notice of the death of boxer Aslam Khan and directed action against the event organizers.
Sindh government issued ordered to stop all illegal sports in the city while authorities launched an investigation to determine whether it was an accident or targeted murder.
Boxer Aslam Khan was buried in Pishin in the presence of thousands of mourners, including policital and social figures.
Meanwhile, legendary boxer Amir Khan expressed his grief and anger over the situation and said that medical staff should have been present at the venue while boxers must be of equal weight. However, the rival in this case was much bigger than Aslam.
