Fawad Chaudhry announces biggest scholarship in Pakistan

The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday announced one of the biggest scholarship program in Pakistan, providing financial aid to top students from matriculation to PhD.

Fawad Chaudhry made the announcement regarding the scholarship program during the meeting of the Standing Committee on Science and Technology, which was chaired by Senator Mushtaq Ahmed on Wednesday.

The federal minister said that Rs. 10,000 per month will be awarded to ten matric toppers while Rs. 12,000 per month will be provided as financial aid to ten intermediate toppers of each district.

“After 15 years we have completed the boards of various agencies of the ministry,” he added.

Previously, the federal minister said that the government is planning to introduce an animation and video games certification program for youth.

Fawad Chaudhry said that these programs will be a “game changer” for the youth in Pakistan providing them with several opportunities in the future.

Additionally, the minister mentioned that the country will soon start manufacturing dialysis machines including other health devices locally.

Fawad Chaudhry also brought up the progress in the Electric Vehicles (EVs) sector. “Bringing an electronic vehicle is a great achievement for us,” he added.

The minister also tweeted about the coronavirus vaccination drive in Pakistan. He said that soon more than 100,000 people will be able to get the shot on a daily basis as AstraZeneca vaccine will be available soon in Pakistan.
