It is pertinent to mention that Kashmala Tariq’s son Azlan Khan obtained bail before the arrest. He appeared before the Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Sohail, who granted him bail before arrest against surety bonds of Rs. 50,000 till February 16, 2021.
Later Kashmala Tariq said that her son was not even driving the vehicle that hit the car as claimed by the media in their reports. According to the former MNA, he and her husband were travelling in the vehicle driven by their driver that crashed into the Mehran car.
She said her son was travelling in another vehicle driven by another driver and demanded that the footage of the Safe City Project be released to prove her son’s innocence.
“The accident was a result of the negligence of the drivers of both vehicles but the media started trial of my family,” said Kashmala Tariq. She also claimed her son was at the scene of the accident till 12 midnight while her husband suffered several injuries.
According to Tariq, this was an accident and “could have happened to anyone” and people are just taking a dig at her because she is a politician.
