Authorities in Islamabad have sealed / imposed lockdown multiple sub-sectors from tonight (15 March 2021), including G-6/2, G-10/4, F-11/1, I-8/4 and I-10/2, after a surge in coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in these areas. according to the notification issued by the District Magistrate Office.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, the commercial areas and assessment parks in these areas will be “completely locked down” on weekends while all kinds of indoor activities have been banned and outdoor functions only allowed for 2 hours with an upper limit of 300 people.
2/3- More areas are expected to be locked down. New UK variant strain is prevalent in Islamabad. NOCs issued to all functions, festivals, gatherings withdrawn. Any kind of indoor activity is not allowed. Outdoor functions are only allowed for 2 hours with less than 300 ppl.

Meanwhile offices are not allowed to call more than 50 percent of employees and any kind of violation in the adherence of standard operating procedures (SOPs) will result in strict action, including sealing of premises.
“Everyone is requested to please cooperate.” requested the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat on Twitter while updating everyone of the situation.

It is pertinent to mention that all kinds of essential services are exempted from the lockdown of these sub-sectors in Islamabad. These services include pharmacy and medico stores, grocery stores, bakeries, water supplies, patients for medical aid/consultation, tests and appointments, rationing and other emergencies.
