ISLAMABAD: The petrol prices in Pakistan will remain unchanged for a period of 15 days from 16 March to 31 March 2021 on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan after reviewing the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). However, the government has notified of an increase in the price of Light Speed Diesel (LSD) and Kerosene while price of petrol and diesel will remain the same for the remainder of the month.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for a massive increase in the diesel and petrol price in Pakistan, However, the premier okayed the increase in the price of Light Speed Diesel (LSD) and Kerosene.
According to the announcement, the price of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) will remain unchanged at Rs. 111.9 per litre and Rs. 116.07 per litre respectively. Meanwhile, prices of Kerosene oil has been increased by Rs. 3.42 per litre bringing the new rate to Rs. 83.61 and price of Light Speed Diesel (LSD) has been hiked by Rs. 2.19 per litre bringing the new rate at Rs. 81.42 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had originally recommended an increase of Rs. 5.50 per litre for petrol price in Pakistan while proposing a hike of Rs. 6 per litre in diesel price. However, the prime minister did approve of the price increase and ordered to keep them unchanged for the remainder of the month.
The petrol prices in Pakistan will remain unchanged from 16 March 2021 till 31 March 2021. However, price of Light Speed Diesel and Kerosene has seen an increase which will go into effect starting 16 March 2021.
