Aamir Liaquat criticized for sexist comments
Earlier this week, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had announced to postpone its long protest, aimed at knocking the presently ruling, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. Hence, as a PTI official, Aamir Liaquat Hussain taunted the opposition by cracking a nasty joke, that too with prominent harassment element.
Aamir had stated that the only way to topple the PTI government would be to falsely censure a party leader of sexual harassment. Consequently, the host has welcomed critical backlash, as the netizens are not willing to accept sensitive subjects like ‘harassment’ as witticism.
Aamir Liaquat’s controversial tweet reads, “There is only one scenario in which PPP can topple the government and that is if [PPP chairperson] Bilawal tears his clothes and accuses Sheikh Rasheed [PTI minister] of sexual harassment.”
Aamir Liaquat Hussain had targeted Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, as the PPP chairman is often made fun of for his girlish British accent. Nevertheless, the reason of such public outrage was use of delicate matters like rape and harassment as joke and taunts in dirty politics, that too by a religious scholar.
Hence, twitter flooded with responses to Aamir Liaquat’s sick joke, as public severely criticized the MNA and gruesome mentality.
