LAHORE: Peri-Urban Housing scheme is set to be launched in 26 Tehsils of Punjab Province, under this scheme the cost of houses will be only Rs.14,00,000/-. The scheme will start from the first week of April.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill addressing a press conference in Islamabad announced that under the Peri-Urban Housing Scheme now a common man with low income will be able to get a house in just Rs.1.4 million (14 Lakh).
Dr. Shahbaz Gill also said the first phase of the Peri-Urban Housing Scheme will be constructed on 3,000 Kanal land. This scheme will allow low-income groups to obtain a house in easy installments. Initially, the scheme will be executed in 26 tehsils of 20 districts which will be expanded to all Tehsils of Punjab in due course of time.

Dr. Gill mentioning other projects threw light on Faraz Town and said starting next month another housing project will be started there as well. Here he said the cost of each apartment will be 2.7 million and here 4000 apartment will be built. He also added journalist community will also get the opportunity to get apartment in this scheme.
Praising the PTI Government he said the government top priority is to bring economical stability in the country. The government has created suitable environment to uplift the housing sector in the country. He also said the government will induct two thousand fresh graduates in Ravi Riverfront Urban Development project which will not only create jobs but it will train work force for similar future projects.
For the first phase of the Peri-Urban Housing Scheme more than ten thousand applications have already been approved. The cost of the house will be 14 lakh. The monthly mortgage will be Rs.5.700 and the mortgage period will be 20 years.
