Lahoris are facing trouble with mobile cellular services in different parts of Lahore amid TLP protests taking place in various parts of the city as the religious party demands expulsion of the French ambassador from the country as per previously agreed terms of Khadim Hussain Rizvi (Late) with the federal government.
According to INCPAK sources, there are disruption of mobile cellular services across various parts of Lahore, including Johar Town, Samanabad, Multan Road, Ferozepur Road, Bedian Road and several other localities where protestors are clashing with law enforcement personnel.
TLP protests started on 12 April 2021 after the party’s chief Saad Hussain Rizvi was arrested in Lahore just days before the party’s deadline for the expulsion of the French ambassador from Pakistan. These demonstration turned violent and some people even lost their lives, including policemen after which the government decided to ban the party under the anti-terrorism law.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and the federal cabinet ended up approving a summary on Thursday from the Interior Ministry seeking a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under the anti-terrorism law and the said declaration will be presented before the Supreme Court.
Lives of citizens have been disrupted across the country because of the ongoing TLP protests especially in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Many INCPak WhatsApp group members have reported disruption in mobile cellular services across various parts of Lahore since yesterday (Wednesday). However, there are some networks allowing calls and SMS facility to users but data services are unavailable while some networks have completely shut their services in these areas.
