Warner Bros has recently dropped the trailer for its highly anticipated ‘Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do it’, and as assumed, the third installment of the horror franchise puts up a spine-chilling paranormal show, that ensures to drill compelling terror in your hearts. Based on a true life event, the Conjuring 3 picture show is slated for a June 4 release in theatres and on HBO max.
Directed by Michael Chaves and produced by Peter Safran and James Wan, the horror packed Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It is penned down by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. It follows the real life story of a young-boy Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who had been convicted of stabbing his landlord back in 1981. However, in his defense, the young Johnson had claimed to be in demonic possession that had led to such dreadful outcome.
The Johnson’s incident was the first known court case in the United States where the defendant sought to prove their innocence by claiming demonic control to deny responsibility for the crime. The case had been dealt with by the veteran paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are the central characters in the Conjuring franchise.

Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It
Adapted from one of the most petrifying cases from Ed and Lorraine Warren’s true case journals, ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ trails the similar plot to 1981’s Johnson’s demonic possession case. However, little variations might be according to the film.
As revealed from the nearly three minute long trailer, there has been a cruel murder and an unknown evil is wreaking havoc on earth, where the 11 years old young criminal claims to have been possessed by a devil. Now, the paranormal detectives Ed and Lorraine Warren have to hunt the truth and prove it in the court, as they battle it out with the demons themselves.
Moreover, ‘Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It’ is the eighth one in the Conjuring universe, and unlike the previous two films, the movie has upgraded its horror element this time and promises to give you chills with its fear-provoking plots.
Talking about the forthcoming horror rollercoaster, the director James Wan commented,
“I really wanted ‘The Conjuring 3’ to get away from the whole haunted house set-up of the first two ‘Conjuring’ films. It should be more on a whole different level, something that we’ve never explored before in ‘The Conjuring’ world.”
Furthermore, the official synopsis for ‘Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It’ reads,
“‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.”
Cast
The fan favorite Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine in the third film of Conjuring franchise, whereas Ruairi O’Connor will join the cast as the young, demon possessed Arne Johnson. Other than that, Sarah Catherine Hook, Julian Hilliard, Charlene Amoia and Paul Wilson among others will be seen in significant characters.
‘Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ will hit the theatre screens on June 4, 2021 and will be dropped on HBO max simultaneously. The film was originally scheduled for a last year release, however got pushed due to novel pandemic. Here is the trailer for the approaching Conjuring 3.
