Jennifer Lopez starrer ‘Shotgun Wedding’ to premiere next summer

Starring the drop dead gorgeous Jennifer lopez and the ‘Love, Simon’ actor Josh Duhamel as centrals, the highly anticipated romantic comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’ is all set to hit the theatres next summer. As announced by the production recently, the film has been slated for a June, 2022 release.

Sharing a series of pictures from behind the scenes of this romantic thriller, the hypnotic Jennifer Lopez, who is portraying the leading lady in Shotgun Wedding, announced the big news on her instagram handle.

Dressed up in bridal attire drained in blood, alongside her groom co-star Josh Duhamel, Jennifer gave out the first look and release date with a caption,

“Big news! @shotgunwedding hits theaters June 29, 2022! We cannot wait for you to see this movie.”

About Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding

Directed by Jason Moore and produced by Ryan Reynolds, Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, the forthcoming rom-com follows a twisted yet hilarious timeline. Shotgun Wedding revolves around love birds Darcy, adopted by Lopez and Tom, brought to life by Duhamel, in a fight for their lives, after their picture-perfect destination wedding is thrown off by cold feet, and a dangerous hostage situation involving their families is looming.

Moreover, besides the leading duo of Jennifer and Josh, the film also has some other acting veterans on board.  Hence, shotgun wedding will also stars Jennifer Coolidge, Lenny Kravitz and Cheech Marin in pivotal roles of bride and groom’s family members.

The official synopsis reads,

“Darcy and Tom get their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple gets cold feet. But suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. The couple must work together to save their loved ones — if they don’t end up killing each other first.”

Here to mention, earlier, the straight white men star Armie Hammer was casted in to star opposite Jennifer Lopez in the ‘shadow wedding.’ However, the actor was dropped from the film back in January, following allegations of sexual abuse and social media controversy. Hence, later, Josh Duhamel joined in as the new male lead.

Shotgun Wedding will be released next summer, on June 29, 2022.
