The Nigerian Army chief Ibrahim Attahiru dies in a plane crash in central Nigeria on Friday, Nigerian Air Force tweets and confirms the news.
Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, who took the charge in January in year, died during an official visit to the country’s Kanduna State when his plane crashed on Friday. – Air Force spokeperson Edward Gabwet confirmed on twitter.
The spokesman acknowledged that one of its planes was involved in a crash near Kaduna International Airport, some 180 kilometers (112 miles) north of the capital, Abuja.
“The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained,” Gabkwet said.
