Pakistan journalist and anchor Hamid Mir has been banned from hosting the popular program ‘Capital Talk’ on Geo News after his recent remarks against state institutions.
Hamid Mir has taken to Twitter and responded after being barred from hosting the ‘Capital Talk’ show. “Nothing new for me. I was banned twice in the past. Lost jobs twice. Survived Assassination attempts but cannot stop raising voice for the rights given in the constitution.” he wrote in his Tweet.
“This time I am ready for any consequences and ready to at any extent because they are threatening my family.” he concluded while responding to another journalist Asma Shirazi.

Geo News has confirmed that Hamid Mir will not be hosting the prime time show and he has been sent on an indefinite leave.
Mir has been employed by Geo News for over a decade and his show ‘Capital Talk’ is one of the most watched talk shows in the country. He originally started hosting the show back in 2002 and been on-air ever since.
Several Pakistani journalists are supporting Mir, however, he has received a lot of criticism over his remarks and accusations against state insitutions.
