KIA Lucky Motors has explained the reason behind car delivery delays being faced by customers in a statement issued on their social media handles. It bears mentioning that other automakers like Suzuki, MG and Changan are also facing delays in car deliveries because of the pandemic.
In the official statement issued on social media, KIA Lucky Motors has said that the delay in car delivery to customers has been because of supply chain issues being caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“The global pandemic has caused a significant turbulence in the global supply chain operations for various industries across the globe and the Pakistani automobile industry bears no exception.” said the company in its statement.
However, KIA Lucky Motors has said that the situation is expected to improve in the next couple of months and delivery of vehicles will get back on track.
“It is expected that the situation of global supply chain will improve in the next couple of months.” said KIA Pakistan in the statement.
The statement mentions that customers who are facing delay in KIA car delivery are being compensated for their patience. However, is it unclear what the company means by this compensation.
The global pandemic has caused a semiconductor chip shortage resulting in disruption being faced by several industries, including the automotive sector.
Furthermore, there have been reports of shortage of tyres and other auto parts, which is also one of the reason car deliveries are facing delays around the world.
