Microsoft is planning to reveal its ‘next generation of Windows’ possibly named Windows 11 on 24 June as the software giant is now ready to introduce some major changes to its popular operating system, which will likely include a number of visual enhancements.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella teased this announcement during his Build keynote and said he had been testing the next generation of Windows over the past several months.
Soon we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators. I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows. Our promise to you is this: we will create more opportunity for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build and distribute and monetize applications. We look forward to sharing more very soon.

The next generation of Windows will likely include major visual enhancements, including some significant changes to the UI under something codenamed “Sun Valley.”
Nadella has claimed that this will be the biggest update to Windows in over a decade. Microsoft has released Windows 8 and Windows 10 during the last decade with Windows 8 introducing the biggest changes to the operating system since its inception.
However, since many people ended up skipping Windows 8 entirely, they are not aware of the changes that were introduced to the OS as much of the stuff was rolled back in Windows 10. Some of these changes included a full-screen Metro-environment and a classical desktop environment with loads of touch gestures.
Microsoft has managed to keep a lid on the next generation of Windows but we are expected to see the changes with Windows Insider Program after the unveil at the upcoming event.
However, it still remains unclear whether the company will stick to the Windows 10 name or change the branding entirely. Many people have speculated that it will be called Windows 11, which could be possible. We will find out everything in a few weeks time.
