Petrol Prices Likely to Increase From 16 August 2021

ISLAMABAD: The petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to increase from 16 August 2021, according to the recommendation summary submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to the Petroleum Division.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended an increase of Rs. 0.50 per litre in the petrol price and a hike of Rs. 2.50 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).

Furthermore, the regulatory body has proposed an increase of Rs. 1.00 per litre in the price of light speed diesel and a hike of Rs. 1 per litre in the price of kerosene oil.

It bears mentioning that petrol prices in Pakistan were increased for the first half of August 2021. The current price of petrol is Rs. 119.80 per litre while high-speed diesel is being sold at a price of Rs. 116.53 per litre. Similarly, the price of light-speed diesel is Rs. 84.67 and price of kerosene oil is Rs. 87.49 per litre.

If the Government approves the new petrol prices in Pakistan, these will come into effect from 16 August 2021 for the second half of the month. The final decision will be taken by the Finance Ministry after consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
