The religious scholars from across the country are demanding Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed for speedy trials and public hanging of rapists.
In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant on Religious Affairs and head of the Ulema Council Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi on Sunday, all religious scholars from across the country, belonging to all schools of thought, severely condemned the rape of children and women in the country.
They have issued a joint declaration condemning the rape of a 16-year-old female student by the in-charge of a seminary in Rawalpindi on Sunday. The religious scholars demanded that the one responsible should be punished in full public view.

The religious scholars added that Islamic Shariah had clear orders for both men and women regarding such matters. These rules, which are in black and white and explain rules regarding covering the body as well as staying away from vulgarity and nudity, are for people of both sexes.
The religious scholars said that there is no room in Shariah for men to even touch a Na Mehram women let alone harass her while it is clear in Shariah that women cannot dress inappropriately and show off their body.
