WEATHER UPDATE: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thundershowers across the country during the current week as more monsoon currents are likely to penetrate in the country from 7th September and likely to continue till 11th September (Saturday).
According to the weather update by PMD, there are chances of rain and thundershower in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Okara, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dir, Chitral, Peshawar, Kohat, Waziristan, Gilgit-Baltistan, with occasional gaps from 7 September 2021 to 11 September 2021.
Meanwhile, there are chances of heavy rain in Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, from 8 September 2021 to 10 September 2021.
Furthermore, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Tank, Karak, Bannu, D.I. Khan, South Punjab (Bhakkur, Layyah, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Nera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Khanewal, Multan, eastern Balochistan (Kohlu, Loralai, Barkhan, Zhob, Musa Khel, Quetta, Ziarat, and in Sindh province from 8th September to 10th September.
The PMD has warned of urban flooding due to heavy rain in several cities, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore from 8 September 2021 to 10th September 2021.
