Apples has introduced the new 16-inch MacBook Pro with big notch in the display and the company’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The new chips offer a 10-core CPU with eight ‘high-performance’ cores and two ‘high-efficiency’ cores. The M1 Max offers 32-core GPU, which is double the cores in the M1 Pro at 16-core. The laptop comes with 64GB of unified memory with the M1 Max and 32GB of memory with the M1 Pro.
The MacBook Pro is equipped with a 16.2-inch massive display (Liquid Retina XDR) which delivers up to a claimed 1,600 nits of brightness. However, the company has introduced a big notch at the center that houses a 1080p webcam. Apple claims that it delivers twice the low-light performance of previous MacBook Pro webcams.
Furthermore, there are six speakers which support Spatial Audio and infamous Touch Bar has been replaced by physical keys. The MacBook Pro also comes with an HDMI port on the right side along with Thunderbolt 4 port and a MicroSD card reader while the left side offers a headphone jack and two more Thunderbolt 4 ports. Apple claims that it is the most connectivity ever seen on a MacBook.
It bears mentioning that Apple introduced the 16-inch MacBook Pro in November 2019 and it was powered by 9th Gen Intel Processors and this is a welcomed upgrade for customers who had been waiting anxiously for something new in the 16-inch MacBook lineup.
Apple has also introduced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro which also comes with a notch and Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The new MacBook Pros are now available to order on the Apple website.
