Pakistan captain Babar Azam has announced the 12-man squad for T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India (PAK vs India) set to take place tomorrow (Sunday, 24th October).
Addressing a press conference in Dubai on Saturday, Babar Azam announced the names of 12 players shortlisted for playing the the match between Pakistan and India.
The 12-man squad for the PAK vs India includes:
- Babar Azam (c)
- Mohammad Rizwan (wk)
- Fakhar Zaman
- Haider Ali
- Mohammad Hafeez
- Shoaib Malik
- Asif Ali
- Shadab (vc)
- Imad Wasim
- Hasan Ali
- Shaheen Afridi
- Haris Rauf
Babar Azam said that his team will not think about Pakistan poor performance against India in the past as it is irrelevant. “To be honest, what has passed is beyond us,” said Azam during the press conference. “We want to use our ability and confidence on the day of the match so that we can get a better result. Records are meant to be broken.”
He said that the PAK vs India match is going to be full of intensity and the team would need to perform well in all three departments of the game. “The boys are excited to play the World Cup and we have a crucial match on Sunday. A winning impact is necessary and then we will go match by match,” he added.
Babar Azam added that Prime Minister Imran Khan had advised them regarding Pakistan vs India match before they left for Dubai. “The prime minister met us before our departure and shared his experiences of the 1992 win and told us to play aggressive and fearless cricket against India.”
