Instagram has started testing a major new upgrade to its Instagram Stories, which would allow users to post longer videos of up to 60 seconds. Currently, the feature only allows posting videos of 15 seconds as Instagram Stories and any video which is longer than 15 seconds is automatically split into multiple Stories upon getting posted.
The photo and video-sharing app has introduced a lot of upgrades recently, including the Link Sticker Feature, which now allows adding custom text color options. The company also started rolling out Instagram badges last month, which allows creators to earn money from their followers.
Matt Navarra, a notable social media consultant, has recently spotted the new upgrade being tested by photo-sharing app to its Instagram Stories, allowing users to post videos longer than 15 seconds (up to 60 seconds) as a story instead of having it split into multiple short stories, which are 15 seconds long each.

The new update will allow the company to take on rivals such as Snapchat and TikTok, which allow longer videos to be posted on the platform.
Instagram has also improved its Link Sticker Feature, adding custom text and color options. The users now have the option to share links on Instagram Stories with personalized text via these stickers, instead of just sharing a link. The option to add color combination also allows users to creased more improved visibility of the link against different images and backgrounds.
The social media company also started rolling out the Instagram Badges in November. The badges allow users to show support for creators during Live Video on the platform. The feature will be available to users aged 18 and above with more than 10,000 followers in select regions.
Once purchased, the badges will appear alongside comments during a live cast.
