The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a Bank Holiday in Pakistan on Monday, 3 January 2022, when all banks in the country will remain closed for public dealing.
In a notification, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced that all banks / DFIs / MFBs shall remain closed for public dealing on Monday, 3 January 2022 as per the notification issued by the External Relations Department of the SBP.
However, the Bank Holiday announced by SBP applies only to walk-in customers, while the employees of banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend work as usual.
It bears mentioning that the central bank had announced that field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) and other authorized branches will remain open for extended hours till 8PM or 10PM on 30 and 31 December 2021 in order to facilitate the collection of government receipts and taxes.
Furthermore, the SBP has also directed all banks to keep their concerned branches open on 31 December 2021.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will also remain closed during the Bank Holiday in Pakistan on Monday, 3 January 2022.
