Nvidia has announced its new flagship GPU, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, which is the company’s most powerful desktop GPU to date. However, the company has only teased the upcoming RTX 3090 Ti and it not delve into too much details regarding the GPU.
The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti will have the same 24GB GDDR6X memory as the RTX 3090, however, it will run 7.7 percent faster at 21Gbit/s, up from 19.5Gbit/s. The company also says that the upcoming GPU will include 40 teraflops of performance, around 11 percent faster than the base RTX 3090 with 36 teraflops.
There is also 78 teraflops for ray tracing and 320 teraflops for AI tasks but the base and boost clocks for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti have not yet been revealed by the GPU maker but reports say that RTX 3090 Ti will be 10 percent faster than RTX 3090.
Rumors also suggest that RTX 3090 Ti could require a 1000W PSU, with a TDP of 450 watts, which is 100 watts more than the RTX 3090 in terms of power draw. However, Nvidia will reveal more details about the GPU later this month.
The price tag of RTX 3090 Ti is still unknown but it will likely be expensive as the current RTX 3090 starts at an absurd price of $1500. The GPU is rumored to be released on 27 January 2022 but this isn’t an official date by the company.
Meanwhile, the company has confirmed that the RTX 3050 will be available from partners worldwide starting 27 January 2022 starting at $249.
