The Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas has announced a new school dress code for students at a press conference. The Education Minister has ordered the government schools in Punjab to ensure boys wear caps and girls wear dupatta or scarf. He has also requested the private educational institutions in Punjab to enforce the new school dress code.
Furthermore, the Punjab Education Minister also said that it was the first time in the history of Pakistan that Quran was being taught at schools. He added that reading of the Holy Quran would be done from class 1 to 5 and with translation and explanation to students from class 6 to 12.
He mentioned that legal action would be taken against administration of the respective public or private schools in case of any violation of the issued directives.
In related news, the Punjab Government has banned the unvaccinated students from attending schools as the country faces increasing number of COVID-19 cases, especially the new OMICRON variant.
