PSL 7: Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United – Match 5 Highlights

Pakistan Super League Seventh Edition (PSL 7 2022) – Match 5 Highlights – Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United (PZ vs IU) at Karachi National Stadium – Islamabad United won the match by 9 wickets with 25 balls remaining.

Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bowl first with Peshawar Zalmi setting a target of 169 despite a rough start to their batting lineup as Tom Kohler Cadmore, Yasir Khan, Haider Ali, and Hussain Talat were all set packing back to the pavilion in the first few overs.

However, Sherfane Rutherford gave the Peshawar Zalmi a fighting chance scoring 70 runs off just 46 balls, while Shoaib Malik and Ben Cutting also added 25 and 26 runs to the total from just 22 and 17 balls, respectively.

Islamabad United was able to cruise through the target of 168 set by the Peshawar Zalmi and they were able to end the game with 172 on the scoreboard with a boundary. Paul Stirling and Alex Hales had a magnificent opening partnership with both scoring 57 and 82 runs off 25 and 54 balls, respectively. However, Paul Stirling was run out by Wahab Riaz and Rahmanullah Gurbaz took to the pitch and also managed 27 runs off just 16 balls.
