Lahore Qalandars had an unfortunate start with opener Abdullah Shafique being dismissed too early into the game after scoring just 4 runs, however, Fakhar Zaman and Kamran Ghulam made up for the loss through their brilliant partnership as the two batters scored 60 and 42 runs off just 37 and 38 balls, respectively.
Mohammad Hafeez and Phil Salt also played well adding 42 and 43 to the score total, respectively, while allowing Lahore Qalandars to set a target of 183 runs to win the game.
Lahore Qalandars played well and ended the winning streak of the Multan Sultans by keeping them from chasing the total of 183 set during the first innings.
Shan Masood was dismissed early with a score of 8 runs off 7 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan was only able to score 20 runs from 27 balls, Shoaib Masood, who followed Shan Masood to the pitch, managed 29 runs, while Rilee Rossouw was sent back to the pavilion for no score at all.
Tim David and Khushdil Shah managed 24 and 22 runs off 12 and 16 balls, respectively, while the rest of the lower batting order failed miserably to chase the target of 183 set by Lahore Qalandars, leading to Multan Sultan’s first loss in this year’s PSL 7.
