Islamabad has eased COVID-19 restrictions in line with decisions of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) as number of coronavirus infections have started to subside.
According to the notification, the following NPIs will be implemented in the territorial jurisdiction of Islamabad effective 16 February 2022.
Gatherings
Indoor gatherings shall be allowed only for fully vaccinated individuals with maximum limit of 300 individuals in Islamabad. However, outdoor gatherings with a maximum limit of 500 individuals shall be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals under strict COVID protocols.
Weddings / Functions
Indoor weddings shall be allowed only for fully vaccinated individuals with maximum limit of 300 individuals in Islamabad. However, outdoor weddings with a maximum limit of 500 individuals shall be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals under strict COVID protocols.
Dining
Indoor dining shall be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals. Outdoor dining shall be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals. However, takeaways shall be allowed 24/7.
Gyms / Indoor Courts
All Gyms / Indoor courts (tennis, badminton. squash etc) shall be opened for fully vaccinated individuals / members under strict COVID protocols.
Cinemas
Cinemas shall be opened in Islamabad for fully vaccinated individuals only under strict COVID protocols.
Amusement Parks
Amusement parks shall be allowed to opened in Islamabad for fully vaccinated individuals only under strict COVID protocols.
Shrines
Shrines in Islamabad shall be opened for fully vaccinated individuals only under strict COVID protocols.
Sports
Contact sports (Karate, Boxing, Martial Arts, Rugby, Water Polo, Kabaddi a Wrestling) in Islamabad shall be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals only.
Education Sector
All types of education institutes for children under 12 years of age will remain opened. Education institutes for above 12 years will remain functional with 100% attendance for fully vaccinated individuals only under strict COVID protocols. With effect from 1st February, 2022 vaccination for students above 12 years will be mandatory (at least one dose). No exception other than medical reasons will be entertained.
Business Timings
All business activities/markets in Islamabad Capital Territory shall be opened under strict COVID protocols.
Office Routine
All Public / Private Offices and establishments throughout the Islamabad Capital Territory shall operate with 100% attendance. All employees to be fully vaccinated, however, work from home is encouraged.
Public Transport
All types of intra-city public transport shall operate in Islamabad Capital Territory occupancy level 70% for vaccinated individuals only. Mask wearing will continue in all types of public transport. Ban on serving of meals / snacks in public transport in Islamabad with effect from 21 February 2022.
Railways
Occupancy level of rail services is 80% shall operate in Islamabad Capital Territory for vaccinated individuals only with strict COVID protocols. Mask wearing will continue throughout the journey.
Mask Wearing
All Citizens shall use face covering in public spaces throughout the Islamabad Capital Territory. Compliance to compulsory mask wearing while incorporating innovative measures for enforcement. Strict adherence to SOPs in mosques and other places of worship are ensured.
