The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refuted the accusations levelled by Australian all-rounder James Faulkner, who announced his withdrawal from PSL 7 and accused the PCB of not honoring the contractual payments for the annual cricket tournament.
James Faulkner announced his withdrawal from PSL 2022 on Twitter. “I’ve had to withdraw from the last 2 matches and leave the @thePSLt20 due to the @TheRealPCB not honoring my contractual agreements/payments.” he wrote in his tweet. “I’ve been here the whole duration and they’ve continued to lie to me.”
In the following Tweet, James Faulkner said that it hurts to leave as he wanted to help get international cricket back in Pakistan as there is so much young talent and the fans are amazing. “But the treatment I have received has been a disgrace from the @TheRealPCB and @thePSLt20,” he added

PCB Responds to Accusations
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed the allegation levelled and issued a response on Twitter. “The PCB and Quetta Gladiators have regretfully taken note of Mr James Faulkner’s false and misleading accusations and will shortly be releasing a detailed statement on the matter.” the PCB Tweeted.
The PCB has also issued a detailed press release regarding the matter and countered the accusations made by James Faulkner for not receiving the contractual payments for PSL 7 tournament. In the press release, the PCB said that James Faulkner has been made 70% of the agreed payment to his offshore UK bank account.
Furthermore, the statement from the PCB added that remainder of the contractual payment only becomes due 40 days after the completion of the PSL 2022 tournament. However, James Faulkner has been demanding that another payment of the same amount be made to his onshore bank account in Australia.
Moreover, the PCB said that it tried to engage with James Faulkner in an attempt to reason with him despite his reprehensible behavior, but he refused to reconsider his decision and demanded that his travel arrangements be made immediately.
James Faulkner Destroys PC Hotel Property
The PCB added that James Faulkner also deliberately damaged hotel property where PSL teams were staying and also misbehaved at the airport, according to immigration authorities.
“In wake of the above, and taking serious note of Mr James Faulkner’s gross misconduct that was an attempt to bring the PCB, Pakistan cricket and the HBL Pakistan Super League into disrepute, it has been unanimously agreed by the PCB and the franchises that Mr James Faulkner will not be drafted in future HBL Pakistan Super League events.” said the PCB.
