Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program 2022 has revised the eligibility criteria to benefit more low-income families from the initiative. The decision was taken by the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Steering Committee during a meeting held on Tuesday.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Senator Dr Sania Nishtar, chaired the meeting at the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division (PASSD).
The meeting discussed the progress of the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program 2022 and informed that the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Registration Website had received 700 million hits since the start of the first phase of the programme.
The programme received a total of 19.5 million applications out of which 9.3 million were of those unique families under the first phase of the registrations. “Applications of the registered families are currently going through data analytics.” said Dr Sania Nishtar. “Those whose eligibility has been determined are being sent 8171 confirmation messages in a phased manner.”
“Also, eligible families have already started availing the Ehsaas Rashan subsidy from the network of 7,978 Utility Stores and National Bank of Pakistan’s (NBP) authorized Kiryana retailers” added Dr Sania Nishtar.
The members of the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Steering Committee made decisions in line with the decision of the Federal Cabinet to support low-income families through targeted subsidies programme of Ehsaas. The committee agreed to revise the eligibility criteria of the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program 2022 to a certain level so that maximum number of deserving families could benefit from the initiative.
According to the new eligibility criteria for the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program 2022, those families earning below Rs. 50,000 a month can apply for the programme by sending their CNIC number to 8171 SMS service. These beneficiaries can also register online for the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program 2022 using the Ehsaas Rashan Portal at https://ehsaasrashan.pass.gov.pk/. The Kiryana stores can also register through the portal.
The Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program offers 30% targeted subsidy for 20 million families on the purchase of flour, pulses, cooking oil or ghee every month. The programme is funded jointly by the federal and provincial governments of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
