There are several reports of mobile phone services being down in different areas Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The residents of the twin cities have taken to social media to report the matter and try to get answers for the lack of mobile phone signals.
It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad and Rawalpindi authorities had not issued any respective notifications regarding suspension of mobile phone services in the area.
However, the residents are reporting that mobile phone signals are down in different areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi as they are unable to access cellular services.
It bears mentioning that local authorities had announced four public holidays in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference of Foreign Ministers (CFM) being held in Islamabad.
The local holidays in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been announced for 21st, 22nd, and 24th March, while 23rd March is already a national holiday on account of Pakistan Day.

However, the government did not mention anything in the notifications regarding the holidays about mobile phone services being suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but area residents are reporting mobile phone signals being down in several parts of the cities.
The mobile phone services being suspended in the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) may be due to the political unrest and current situation in the capital.
