The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has tendered his resignation on Monday from the post after the joint opposition submitted a no-confidence motion against the Punjab CM in the Provincial Assembly on Monday.
According to the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Farrukh Habib, the Prime Minister has nominated PML-Q’s Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for the post of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, while Moonis Elahi, PML-Q’s leader, has confirmed that the post has been accepted by Elahi.
“Chaudhry Pervez Elahi meets with Prime Minister Imran Khan and all issues were settled at the meeting.” said Farrukh Habib. “PML-Q expresses confidence in PM and announces support.” he added, saying that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has tendered his resignation to the PM.

On Monday, the joint opposition submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar in the Punjab Assembly, citing that they were dissatisfied with his overall performance. According to PML-N’s Rana Mashood, a total of 126 lawmakers had signed the no-confidence motion against Buzdar, while 119 members had signed the requisition for a session.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication, Shahzbaz Gill, said that PTI will support Chaudhry Pervez Elahi as Chief Minister Candidate.” adding that PML-Q announces support to PM in no-confidence motion.
