Instagram has introduced several new messaging features to improve the user experience. The photo and video sharing platform has introduced the ability to reply to messages while browsing the application and an option to send silent messages to other Instagram users.
Furthermore, Instagram has also integrated with music streaming platforms to allow users to share a 30-second music previews in chat with other users. The social media company has also introduced a way to quickly reshare posts to friends by tapping and holding the share button.
The latest update also shows which contacts are available online on the top of the inbox, while there are also new features for customizations as well as options to conduct polls in groups chats, which was a long time coming since the company had been testing this feature for sometime.
Meta on Thursday announced the addition of new messaging features on Instagram, including the ability to reply to messages without navigating to the inbox while browsing through your Instagram Feed. The company has also added a new quick send option that allows users to reshare a post to friends with a long tap on the share button.
Moreover, Instagram has added new online indicators in the DM (direct message) panel that shows contacts who are available to chat (currently online). Meanwhile, Instagram has also included the option to customize chat threads, including new chat themes.
The social media platform has also joined hands with Apple Music and Amazon Music to allow users to share 30-second long song previews in their chats. The feature will also get support for Spotify, the company said in the announcement. The receiver of the audio can listen to it directly from the chat window.
Instagram has also introduced the silent messages feature, which was announced recently on Facebook Messenger. The feature allows you to send a message without notifying other recipients. The photo and video sharing platform has also added an option to create polls in group chats.
The new features are being rolled out in select countries, but they will soon make way to the global audience. These new developments are part of Instagram’s efforts to enhance user experience while communicating on the platform with the company focusing more on messaging.
